In
2004 the district GSE team visited South Korea from April 1 until
April 30.
The
team members were: Pam Brennan, Lewisburg, Joy Bridy, Huntingdon,
and Bob Williams, State College. The team leader was Paul Rutter from
the State
College Downtown Rotary Club.
The region of Korea that the team visited was in the southeastern part
of South Korea-just a little bit north of Pusan. Andong, Gumi, Kyongju,
and Pohang are some of the larger cities in the district. The area is
known for retaining traditional Korean culture.
The
team had the most awesome experience one could ever imagine. The South
Koreans were exceptional, gracious, and generous with their time, talents,
and efforts to make our exchange truly beneficial. One can only hope
that we will be able to always be friends with the Rotarians in the
district we visited. In fact, the International Convention in 2009 will
be in Seoul, South Korea. We will return to visit our friends!
