Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 Migration
The official steps to migrate can be fond here... http://docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_1.0.x_to_1.5_Stable This page gives a good general description of "how to" migrate. Experience has shown that migrating of various 1.0 components and the existing template and css are often the sticky points. The Joomla upgrade to 1.5 will preserve ONLY the content of your Joomla 1.0. No components/modules/plugins/templates you have will be available in the upgraded Joomla 1.5. That being said, new 1.5 versions of components/modules/plugins/templates will need to be selected and installed to maintain the same functionality of the 1.0 site. It maybe possible to update the existing 1.0 template so it works properly in Joomla 1.5. The best solution is to replace the 1.0 template with a comparable 1.5 template.
Joomla 1.0 is no longer supported and the migration to 1.5 is highly suggested. For security reasons migration will become mandatory.
Centre Of The Web will work with you to migrate the site. The first step would be for COTW to create a 1.5 migration site to move your content into. At that time we need to find a 1.5 template and install/update 1.5 components. The live site could then be moved to the new 1.5 migration site.
Minimally, COTW installs the new 1.5 migration site. Costs to migrate start from COTW installing only the migration site and you migrate your site ($45/60). COTW can work with you and manage the complete migration. For a modest sized site you can estimate 5- 10 hours of consultation, update, and training time. This additional work will be billed on an hourly basis ($50/60).
